The names, itineraries, and names of the new ships are currently in development.
Expanding Lands and Updating Resorts
What proved to be the highlight of the D23 Celebration this year was the overwhelming showcase of all of the changes coming to the Disney Parks and Resorts. These announcements - many of which took guests completely by surprise (and for good reason) - marked this year's D23 Expo as one of the best in years. Already, we are seeing a surge in positive online and in-person discussions about how truly excited Disney Fans are by these upcoming changes, and Disney has proven once again how innovation has sustained the company for the last century. Check it out:
Villains will be getting their own land in a Magic Kingdom park expansion
The expansion at Magic Kingdom — the keystone park of Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida — will bring new and beloved stories to life as Disney Imagineers craft a land based on the wickedly wonderful Disney villains you just love to loathe. While more details are coming, this new land is underway with two new attractions planned as well as dining, shopping and more.
Cars joins Frontierland in Magic Kingdom
In a reimagined section of Frontierland, guests will leave Radiator Springs behind and head off into the wilderness with two new Cars attractions — one that will be an off-road thrilling rally race, and a family-friendly attraction that even the youngest racers will love.
New Adventures Await in Tropical Americas - an addition to Animal Kingdom
Guests will enter the land through Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional village in heart of the rainforest that will feel lived-in, with a long, rich history. On the outskirts of the town, an adventure awaits with pop culture’s most beloved archeologist, Indiana Jones. The attraction takes place inside a mysterious Maya temple and will be an all-new adventure, unlike any of the existing Indy attractions around the world.
The land will also feature a new attraction based on one of Disney’s most popular franchises, Encanto. The experience — which is the first ride-through attraction of the film for a Disney park — takes place inside Casita on the day after young Antonio receives his gift of communicating with animals.
Monsters, Inc. will be added to Disney Hollywood Studios
The Pixar franchise is getting a new land, which will welcome guests to tour the Laugh Factory with an amazing new attraction that what will be the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney Park.
Avengers Campus Expansion in Disney California Adventure Park
D’Amaro announced that two new thrilling E-ticket Marvel-themed attractions are coming to Disney California Adventure. Avengers Campus will expand, doubling its current size to house the new attractions.
Avatar added to Disney California Park
Avatar — the innovative science fiction series that has brought in more than $5 billion at the global box office — will come to Disney California Adventure including an innovative new attraction that will bring all the action, the excitement, and the wonder of Avatar to life in a completely new and thrilling way.
The new destination is inspired by the second Avatar film, Avatar: The Way of Water, as well as the upcoming films.
A Coco boat ride attraction coming to Disney California Adventure
The attraction will be filled with the characters — and music! — you know and love from the beloved movie, as you join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead. This marks the first-ever “Coco” ride in a Disney park!
A first-ever Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic attraction to be added to Disneyland
A new show is coming to the Main Street Opera House: Walt Disney – A Magical Life, announced Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Presented by Visa ® on Saturday. It will feature for the first time an Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt, advancing a technology he pioneered 60 years ago with Abraham Lincoln at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.
Disney Starlight Nighttime Parade coming to Magic Kingdom
“Disney Starlight” will continue the nighttime spectacular legacy started by the “Main Street Electrical Parade” using the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love. All of this is brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy, in addition to beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Frozen,” and more.
That's a wrap on this year's D34: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (Presented by Visa)! More information about these announcements and more can be found at the official D23 website here: https://ultimatefanevent.d23.com/
